There is NOTHING I love more than Kate Spade, so when it came time for my eighteenth birthday, there was no better inspiration. Hannah and I invited thirty girls to help us celebrate by living colorfully and had so much fun creating the little details and then enjoying the time with our best friends! The day included lots of spades, more than 150 balloons, photo shoots, kisses, and of course - color!

Our homemade photo booth was a big hit! + super easy & inexpensive to create!

Sure, it is totally cheesy and Hallmark designed, but no matter how much you rebel, every year the holiday will still come..So why not enjoy it? Anything that involves candy, hearts, and an excuse to bake is pretty darn good in my book!

I found these ADORABLE printables on pinterest (i'll attach the link below) and couldn't resist the chance to do a little baking and crafting. They were super easy to make and a seriously delicious reminder to all of my friends how much I love them!

Make a wish

For me, birthdays are a big deal. Embarrassing people by showering them with birthday love is my way of showing I care. For Hannah's eighteenth birthday I decided to give her eighteen wishes. Throughout the day she received little colored slips of paper with holes in them in small envelopes that read, "Make a wish!" At the end of the day, I gave her a bouquet of eighteen balloons to attach her wishes. When she let them go there was a moment of absolute beauty and tranquility.. until they got stuck in a tree!

I'm absolutely obsessed with these Ban.do heart shoe clips! Are they not the cutest thing you have ever seen?! I got all kinds of comments on them all day. For example: "Woah, you almost blinded me with all of those sparkles." and of course the "Jeez those shoes are flashy!" Those count as compliments....right?! ;)

Sometimes I wake up and think, "Kayla, just throw on some sweats and call it a day." But then I get up. I open up my closet to lazily pick up those sweats, and I remember why I love to dress up. I LOVE CLOTHES. I love mixing and matching and sparkling and pushing the limits so that I always leave my house for school a little unsure if my outfit is too much. Yeah, sweats are safe. But I want to take risks.

For my new years resolution this year, I decided to stop kidding myself (my resolutions to go to the gym last for about a week) and put my energy towards being more thankful! To remind myself of all the good things in my life, I decided to write down all of my blessings at the end of each day. I decorated this J.Crew journal so that I would have a pretty place to record all of my daily treasures and have been filling the pages with praises, pictures, and little smiles from my days!

For some reason or another, people all over the world have deemed New Years Eve: "National Glitter Day". Okay, maybe that was just me. But seriously, NYE= glitter acceptance. I love New Years Eve. Not because of the ball, fresh start, or kiss. But because it is the one day of the year when I can pile on as many sparkles as I want- and the world can't say anything.

P.S. I also love New Years Eve because this is the day when mum popped out one of my favorite peeps- my oldest sister!

Being that I would love nothing more than to be an event planner in the future, I thought helping my friend, Terri, celebrate her birthday would be the perfect practice! I was so disappointed the day after when I realized that I hadn't taken any quality pictures. Luckily, instragram saved the day!

Not only did I have way too much fun planning, baking, and crafting all of the details, but I also loved making one of my very best friends smile!
